Kids 'R' Kids Curriculum
Kids 'R' Kids is proud of the curriculum used in our Schools of Quality Learning. The writers in the Curriculum Department have more than 150 years in classroom instruction, administrative assignments, and curriculum development. They embrace the concepts of renowned psychologist, Jean Piaget and meet the curriculum standards of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Knowing that children learn best through play, the Curriculum Department provides each classroom with educational materials that promote hands-on learning.
The Active Learning Series is implemented for the youngest learners at Kids 'R' Kids. This well-known curriculum for infants and toddlers has proven to be a successful learning tool. All activities are age appropriate and assist in achieving developmental milestones. Activities are carefully chosen to meet the needs of each child. In order for parents to extend learning in the home, daily activities are posted in the classroom for review. Sign language is introduced at this level to help children communicate their needs as they work toward developing their verbal skills. In our clean and child centered environment, each child is loved unconditionally, thus promoting ultimate mental and physical growth.
Designed for our preschoolers, ages 2 - 4, the Kids 'R' Kids Core Curriculum is comprised of weekly units that support and extend monthly themes. Each unit is filled with activities intended to meet the needs of all types of learners. Daily group times and enrichments are designed to expand a child's vocabulary and knowledge of the world around them. Multiple activities support the theme and learning center additions, which are included in each unit. Kids 'R' Kids also enriches its curriculum through music, which is professionally written and recorded to reinforce concepts. Weekly lesson plans are posted to keep parents informed about their child's learning experience at Kids 'R' Kids.
Children attending kindergarten through fifth grade benefit from a variety of curriculum materials written especially for after school hours, holiday breaks, and summer camp. Each month the school age curriculum presents theme-based, student-initiated activities. The open-ended activities are intended to inspire children to use their creativity while exploring the topic. During school breaks, theme-based units engage students through group time topics, art activities, and suggestions to enrich classroom zones. Time spent in the zones provide children with the opportunity to explore themes in a wide variety of ways. Summer campers participate in a ten-week Super Summer Adventure. Children involved in the Kids 'R' Kids Summer Program have the opportunity to take a virtual vacation while learning fun facts and interesting information.
Kids 'R' Kids provides an educational environment and implements learning objectives supported by national teacher organizations. This warm, loving atmosphere, supports learning in a safe setting, inspiring children to become life-long learners.
